According to Bloomberg News, CEO Zuckerberg said at South by South West, a film, media and music festival in Austin, Texas, that users could soon create NFTs on Instagram.
In a speech on the topic of Metaverse today, Zuckerberg said he was working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near future, but added that many technical problems had to be addressed first.
Economic magazine Fortune reported that Zuckerberg said he hoped that the costumes of the avatars to be used in the metaverse could also be made with NFT.
Prior to this, the Financial Times reported that Meta opened an NFT marketplace in January and discussed ways for users to create and sell it, but it was still in its infancy.
NFTs are digital contents such as videos, images, and music that have been given a unique recognition value using block chain technology like virtual currencies such as Bitcoin.
