Ukraines President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the 17th that he had discussed Frances aid to Ukraine by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron.
President Zelensky posted on his Twitter account that he had had conversations with him about plans to help Ukrainians fight the Russian invasion, especially in the defense sector.
During the talks, President Zelensky said the two leaders emphasized, in particular, the continuation of peaceful armistice talks to quickly end the fighting between Ukraine and Russia.
He added that we must strengthen our anti-war alliance.
Meanwhile, French President Macron said on the 7th of last week that he does not expect an end to Russias attacks on Ukraine within weeks of negotiations.
Macron told Russian President Vladimir Putin that a ceasefire was more important than genuine dialogue, but Putin refused to do so, saying that regular meetings with Putin were difficult.
Macron, who is running for re-election in April, said in his first campaign that day that he doesnt expect a real solution through negotiations in the next few days or weeks.
He said it was a historical mistake for Putin to wage war against his brother country, Ukraine. Macron stressed that the people of all countries should be respected and that no country or its people should be humiliated.
