White House Press Secretary Jen Saki said in a statement on the 17th local time, explaining that the call between the two leaders is part of an ongoing effort to maintain an open line of communication between the United States and China.
Saki added that the two leaders will discuss managing competition between the two countries, as well as Russias invasion of Ukraine and other issues of mutual interest.
