As a result, Russia will lose its status as a member of the European Convention on Human Rights, and Russian citizens will not be able to prosecute in the European Court of Human Rights.
At the end of last month, the Council of Europe Ministerial Committee suspended Russias membership in the Ukraine crisis.
The Council of Europe, in which 47 countries including Russia have participated so far, is a separate organization from the European Union, and is an international organization in Europe that works for the protection of democracy and human rights. Russia joined in 1996.
