Galaxy A unveiled exterior wall design
Interpretation of checks against Samsung [Seoul Economic Daily]
On the day that Samsung Electronics introduced the new Galaxy A, Apple unveiled the exterior wall design of its third official store in Korea, ‘Myeongdong Branch’. The interpretation follows that Apple, which recently released the third-generation iPhone SE, a mid-range smartphone, has waged a “war of nerves” with Samsung Electronics.

On the 17th, Apple unveiled a barricade on the exterior wall of the Apple Myeong-dong store located opposite the Lotte Department Store in Myeong-dong. The design was inspired by ‘Chaekado’, an art style popular among scholars. Chaekado is a drawing of bookshelves, books, stationery, and antiques. An Apple official said, “Myeong-dong is known as the residence of scholars who were highly educated in the Joseon Dynasty,” said an Apple official. .
The Apple Store Myeongdong branch is the third official store in Korea after the first store in Garosu-gil and the second store in Yeouido IFC Mall. The Apple Store sells and repairs official products. The store opening schedule has not been set, but the industry is predicting that it will open in April.
Samsung Electronics, which is competing fiercely with Apple in the global smartphone market, will hold the Samsung Galaxy A Event 2022 this evening and introduce the new Galaxy A. This is a mid-priced product line that will compete with the iPhone SE 3rd generation, which was previously unveiled by Apple. An industry insider said, “Apple released a new store exterior design on the day Samsung Electronics held a major event, and it was a testament to how fiercely the two companies are competing in the premium market as well as the mid-to-low-end market.”
