Reporter Oh Hyun-joo = Samsung Electronics new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S22 Ultra model, has increased its publicly available subsidy to a maximum of 550,000 won. The subsidy was significantly increased in about three weeks after its launch, which is more than three times the previous level.
It is interpreted as a countermeasure by Samsung Electronics to catch Galaxy consumers who are shaken by the controversy over the game optimization service app.
According to the industry on the 21st, the three mobile carriers significantly increased the support for the Galaxy S22 Ultra on the 18th. Based on the 80,000-90,000 won rate plan, it is Δ480,000 won Δ500,000 won Δ550,000 won.
This is an increase of Δ330,000 won Δ353,000 won Δ399,000 won from the previous subsidy. Among them, the largest increase was the LG U+ 5G Premium Essentials plan. The subsidy increased by 264 percentage points from 151,000 won.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra 256GB model is priced at 1452,000 won. Here, the actual purchase price will go down to 819,500 won if LG U+ receives a subsidy for the 80,000 won rate plan and additional subsidy for the distribution network.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra was the most popular product in the pre-sale of three Galaxy S22 series last month. It actually made sense that it inherited the Galaxy Note series by installing the S Pen and storage space.
In fact, about two-thirds of customers who made a reservation in advance at SK Telecoms official online mall T Direct Shop chose Ultra. In the KT Shop, KTs online store also revealed that Ultra received the most choice with 67.2%. LG U+ also analyzed that reservations at U-Shop accounted for 52.6%, accounting for the majority.
