Emphasis on work flexibility, refresh system, and sense of belonging
Held an in-house meeting on the 18th as his first official move after taking office. Naver CEO Soo-yeon Choi is answering reporters questions after the regular shareholders meeting held at the Naver office building in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do on the morning of the 14th. After Choi Soo-yeon took office as CEO, he introduced a new welfare system reform plan.
According to the IT industry on the 18th, Naver announced a plan to revise the welfare system, including up to 6 months of unpaid leave after 3 years of service, opening of 7 new recreational facilities, upgrading in-house restaurant menus, and providing free lunch.
The new welfare system is divided into three categories: ▲ a flexible work environment where you can work flexibly, ▲ a refresh system that allows you to recharge sufficiently, and ▲ strengthen team play that allows you to feel a sense of belonging.
First of all, to support a flexible work environment, Naver supports remote work devices and provides an in-house restaurant and exercise space for free. The restaurant menus at the new office building 1784 and Green Factory will also be upgraded, and lunch and dinner will be provided free of charge from July.
In addition, to provide sufficient rest when taking a break, annual leave of up to two days or more is provided to support vacation expenses of 50,000 won per day when used, and up to six months of unpaid leave for self-development or rest after working for three years or more. This system will come into effect from May.
In addition, 7 new recreational facilities, including Jeju, Yeosu, Jecheon, and Gyeongju, were opened for employees to use.
This welfare system improvement plan is interpreted as an effort to improve the corporate culture of CEO Choi Soo-yeon, who took office on the 14th. After the official appointment, CEO Choi said, “To make a leap forward, above all else, we see the task of restoring Navers unique corporate culture based on trust and autonomy as the immediate task.”
Meanwhile, CEO Choi held an in-house meeting at 2:30 pm on the same day and began to communicate with his employees after his official inauguration.
