An average of 180,000 won per person, Upbit donation proof NFT payment plan
[E-Daily Reporter Kim Gook-bae] Upbit, a domestic virtual asset exchange, announced on the 22nd that 902 of its members have donated 160 million won worth of cryptocurrency to Ukraine, which is currently suffering from war.
Previously, Upbit decided to provide full withdrawal fees to members who participate in cryptocurrency donations to pray for peace in Ukraine. Supported targets are Bitcoin and Ethereum that have been transferred to the official wallet of the Ukrainian government until the 20th.
During this period, 902 Upbit members participated in the donation, and the donation amount was 1.5918 BTC and 22.7495 ETH. Based on the closing price of Upbit on the 20th, it is equivalent to about 160 million won. Thats an average of 180,000 won per person.
Upbit will refund a fee of 0.5229 BTC and 6.12 ETH to donors within this month. In Korean Won, it is about 48 million won. Upbit also plans to give its members non-fungible tokens to prove their donations to Ukraine.
An Upbit official said, “We decided to support the withdrawal fee in the hope of peace in Ukraine.
