
The number of new jobless claims in the United States fell to 214,000 last week, the lowest in two-and-a-half months.
According to MarketWatch on the 17th, the U.S. Department of Labor reported that jobless claims fell by 15,000 last week from 229,000 the week before.
Thats below the Wall Street Journals forecast of a survey of economists.
The reason for the decrease in the number of unemployed is that the demand for labor is strong enough that companies are experiencing an unprecedented job shortage and the U.S. economy is maintaining growth.
